Getting Here is Easy

 Sunshine Village is located in Banff National Park, just an hour-and-a-half from Calgary, Alberta. Getting there from the Calgary International Airport is a breeze by car or coach. 


 

Gondola Hours

Sunshine Village’s high-speed eight-passenger gondola whisks guests from the base area check-in up to Sunshine Mountain Lodge in approximately 20 minutes.

Winter Season

Saturday – Thursday:  8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 10:00pm

If arriving outside our gondola hours, contact Sunshine Mountain Lodge at 403-762-6500 to arrange transportation. Please note a fee will be charged.

8:00AM – 6:00PM

Arriving outside of gondola hours? During the summer, we offer complimentary hotel shuttles from our hotel check in to the village. Our shuttles run nightly from 6 pm to 11 pm.  If you are arriving after 11 pm, we request that you contact Sunshine Mountain Lodge at 403-762-6500 to arrange your transportation. We recommend guests dress warmly for the gondola ride and keep any important items with you while we transfer your luggage up to the hotel.

Calgary International Airport is served by non-stop flights from major cities throughout the world including London, Frankfurt, Dallas, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco, Denver and Salt Lake City.

BY ROAD

Driving Directions

  1. From the Calgary International Airport: drive time approximately 90 minutes.

  2. Follow Barlow Trail to exit for Airport Trail (W) onto Airport Trail until you reach the exit for Deerfoot Trail (Highway 2), turn right (N) onto Deerfoot Trail (Highway 2). Continue north on Deerfoot Trail and exit onto Stoney Trail (W). Continue on Stoney Trail (W) exit onto Highway 1 (Transcanada West).

  3. Continue along this highway until you reach the gates for Banff National Park. At the park gates you will be required to purchase a Park Pass for the vehicle.

  4. After the gates you will continue west on the Highway for approximately 15 minutes.

  5. Take the Exit for Sunshine Village (right) and continue up the access road until you reach the base area for Sunshine Village.

Discovery Pass Requirements

Please keep in mind that Banff Sunshine Village is located in Banff National Park. If you plan to visit our resort you are required to have a Parks Canada Discovery Pass. You can purchase an Annual Discovery Pass at Calgary Snow Central (1037 11th Ave SW). Alternatively, you can purchase daily passes online ahead of time or as you drive through the Banff National Park gates.

BY SHUTTLE

Shuttle from town of Banff to Sunshine Village

The Sunshine Village shuttle bus operates between the town of Banff and Sunshine Village Resort. There are pickup points convenient for all the hotels in Banff. 

Shuttle from Calgary or Canmore

Winter Season Only.

Calgary International Airport - Banff - Sunshine Village

The Banff Airporter is the official airport shuttle and the best way to get to and from Calgary Airport from Banff. The Banff Airporter offers 10 transfers daily from the Calgary Airport to Banff and Canmore. Reservations are required; please book online or call 1-888-449-2901. From the town of Banff you can take our free Banff Sunshine Shuttle or a Banff Taxi.

Calgary and Canmore - Sunshine Village

Sunshine Coach offers a convenient trip from Calgary and Canmore to Sunshine Village. With daily departures from several locations during the ski season the coach will provide you a comfortable and convenient way to get to the resort. There are combined bus & lift ticket rates available as well as discounted bus rates for season pass holders and Sunshine Marmot card holders. Weather Conditions

Sunshine Village is famous for its mild temperatures during mid to late-season. In late April and May, you can ski or snowboard in a T-shirt. Throughout the majority of the season, temperatures remain moderately below freezing. However, early season conditions can be quite cold, so it’s important to dress for the temperatures.
